Joanna

LICENSED CLINICAL SOCIAL WORKER

Hi, I'm Joanna — a Licensed Clinical Social Worker offering virtual therapy to clients in California and Illinois.

I work with teens and young adults navigating anxiety and identity, parents who are pouring everything into a medically complex child, adults in the middle of big life changes, and people living with chronic pain who want their life back.

My approach is warm, real, and collaborative. We'll have honest and raw conversations, dig into what's actually going on. Together, we will build tools that work for your specific life — not someone else's.

If life feels heavier than it should right now, I'm glad you found your way here.

Let’s be real…life is messy. Relationships are confusing, anxiety is annoying, and sometimes you just need someone to help you put the pieces back together. That’s where I come in!

I’m Joanna, a licensed therapist who believes that caring for your mental health doesn’t have to feel overwhelming. Together, we will create a safe place that is truly yours. Therapy is about finding what works for you—whether that’s deep conversations, actionable steps, or just having your own place to say, “Wow, this is A LOT.”

So, if you're ready to start the journey (or at least think about it), reach out!.

family
counseling & parent support

The family unit can be complex. My aim is to help each member of family feel heard while also gently challenging perspectives & encouraging the family to see other points of view. In family therapy, I am a neutral party & I see the family as a whole, while at the same time, I also recognize the individual members and their unique needs within the system. In our sessions we will work towards understanding one and other, creating boundaries, and ultimately build a healthier dynamic.

I also work with parents as they navigate the dynamics of co-parenting. Whether you're newly separated, years into the process, or somewhere in between, I help co-parents reduce conflict, improve communication, and create a more stable, supportive environment for your kids. This is a space to vent, get grounded, and work toward what matters most: raising resilient children.

Lets talk it out- no couch required!

supporting parents of medically complex children

Being a caregiver for a child with complex medical needs is like being a part of a club you didn’t sign up for. Members of this ‘club’ are marked by strength and love often paired with exhaustion and fear.

I provide therapeutic support for parents and caregivers navigating the emotional and mental toll of caring for a medically complex child. Whether you're coping with a new diagnosis, managing ongoing medical uncertainty, or facing burnout as a caregiver, our work will provide you with support and space for your own healing.

I provide therapy that supports the whole family. As a therapist specializing in families with medically fragile children, I offer a compassionate space for healing, coping, and reconnecting.

My approach is family-centered and trauma-informed, offering a safe, nonjudgmental space to process.

Together, we will focus on building caregiver resilience, creating moments of relief, and helping you reconnect with yourself.

therapy for clients with chronic pain

Chronic pain can feel all-consuming—but it doesn’t have to define your life. I use a mind-body approach that helps you understand how the brain and nervous system can get stuck in pain loops, even after the original injury or trigger has healed. Together, we’ll gently retrain your brain to interpret signals more accurately, reduce fear around pain, and build a sense of safety in your body again. Healing is possible and you’re not alone.
